Eva Wieland

Eva Wieland is from Salisbury, Maryland and has been dancing for over 25 years. In May 2000, she graduated from IndianaUniversity with a BA in Religious Studies and Philosophy while continuing her dance training. For four seasons following her undergraduate work, she performed professionally as a Principal Dancer with the New Mexico Ballet Company. She then went on to discover modern dance and to receive her MA with honors in Dance and Dance Education from NYU in 2006; and while a graduate student, she spent two years performing, teaching, and studying dance in New York City. Eva presently lives in Los Angeles where she taught Modern Dance and Dance History as an Adjunct Professor at Long Beach City College for two years. She currently performs with Ptero Dance Theatre, is the editor of the Dance Resource Center’s Dance News, and teaches modern dance at South Bay Ballet. Her most recent achievements include completing yoga teacher training at Liberation Yoga.
