Candice Davis

Candice Davis trained in Studio City, California under Anna Cheselka, Joyce Vanderveen, Sarah Tayir, and Barbara Arms. She performed with New York City Ballet at the Greek Theatre before taking a hiatus from dance to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Music History and Composition from UCLA. After starting her family, Candice returned to dance, and in 1988 co-founded the former Fusion Dance Studio in Torrance, California. After seeing a performance by South Bay Ballet, Candice and her daughter were compelled to join the company in 2001. From 2006 until July 2011, she served asAssistant Artistic Director. Candice serves as the company’s rehearsal assistant and guest performer with roles in several ballets including The Nutcracker and Graduation Ball. Her choreographic credits for South Bay Ballet include an original Alice in Wonderland and Tarantella, as well as additions to A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Sleeping Beauty, and several other ballets. Candice is on faculty with South Bay Ballet’s training academy, Lauridsen Ballet Centre as co-administrator for the school, ballet/jazz instructor, piano accompanist, and choreographer for the academy’s Summer Intensive Programs. Candice is also proud to be a founding member and company dancer for the Kenneth Walker Dance Project. She is working on recording her original collection of piano compositions entitled “Unexpected Trajectory.”
