Candice Davis

Candice brings more than 35 years of dance experience to South Bay Ballet. With extensive training under principal dancers from Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo, New York City Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, and Joffrey Ballet, she has made guest appearances throughout the country including New York City Ballet at the Greek Theatre, a Cirque style production in Las Vegas, two years at the prestigious Piccolo Spoleto in Charleston, South Carolina and an appearance in New York with Kenneth Walker Dance Project.
As Assistant Artistic Director, Candice’s duties include choreographer, rehearsal director and instructor. She has also appeared in several productions including The Nutcracker and Graduation Ball. Her choreographic credits for South Bay Ballet include several additions to the repertoire including Tarantella, new movements for Calico and Sunday in the Park and staging and choreographing several ballets and original contemporary works for Lauridsen Ballet Centre's summer intensive programs. Most recently, Candice choreographed a full length Alice in Wonderland which premiered in June 2007 to sold-out audiences.
Candice handles both the administration and scheduling for both South Bay Ballet and its parent academy, Lauridsen Ballet Centre and is also on the school's teaching faculty. With a degree in Music Composition and Music History from the University of California, Los Angeles, she also serves as a piano accompanist.
She is a founding member of Kenneth Walker Dance Project (KWDP) and acts as Chief Financial Officer on the KWDP board of directors. She also was one of the original founding members of Fusion Dance Studio in Torrance, California. A mother of two, Candice is also working on transcribing, recording and publishing her collection of original piano compositions.
